Choose a scenario to play
First, choose which character in the story you want to be.
As of May 2023, there are more than 2300 scenarios available to play in Japan! (according to mdms.jp). Choose a scenario you want to experience based on the number of players and the summary.

Assign characters to players
Once you have decided on a story to experience, assign characters to each player. For example, in 'Blue Hole Mystery ~ Dawn Town and 'Miracle Blue' ~', there are five characters. Choose which character you want to experience the story as.

Read the story
Once you have chosen your character, read the character sheet that describes the background and secrets of the character you will play.

Discussion and investigation
After reading the character sheet, the story begins. Hide your secrets while talking to other characters and investigating the scene.

Voting and ending
After the discussion and investigation, vote to decide who the 'culprit' is. Vote for the person you think is the culprit. The ending is determined based on the voting results and other conditions. The conclusion of the story is up to you!

Reflection
After the ending, the story experience is over. Reflect on the story with the people you played with and share your thoughts, like 'Actually, I was thinking this at that time' or 'I never thought that statement was a lie!'
Where can you play Madamis?
There are four main places where you can play Madamis.
1. Madamis specialty stores
Play at Madamis specialty stores located nationwide. The store provides the place to play Madamis and a professional facilitator (called a game master), allowing you to enjoy an immersive experience. Fees: 4000-7000 yen/person
2. Madamis apps
Play using a Madamis app. This method is recommended if you want to easily enjoy Madamis without leaving home. There are many types available from free to paid, and the app takes on the role of the game master, allowing you to play anytime, anywhere, with anyone. Fees: 0-2000 yen/person
3. Package
You can also purchase a box (called a package) containing a kit to play Madamis and play at home or in a rental space. Fees: 3000-8000 yen/box (400-1200 yen per person)
4. Online
(PDF + call tools)
Play using a PDF purchased from the 'BOOTH' site while talking through tools like LINE or Discord. Fees: 0-3500 yen/person
Cautions for playing Madamis
There are things to be aware of when playing Madamis.
! Be careful of spoilers
Due to the nature of Madamis, you can only play it once. If you want to share your thoughts that include spoilers, please use the 'Spoiler-allowed thoughts' feature on mdms.jp.
! Respect the time
This game has a section called 'discussion time' where there is a time limit. Strive to play the game fairly.
! Respect other players
The stories created through interactions with other players are the essence of Madamis. There will be scenes where you suspect or question other players, but keep it within the realm of performance and acting. Other players are your companions in the game.
! Enjoy the story
Instead of reading what's written on the character sheet out loud indiscriminately, speak as if you are the character to create a more immersive experience. Even if you're not confident in acting, try to become the character and enjoy the game.
